Comcast is expanding its Xfinity network into Boardman Township. Construction is underway to deliver the full suite of Xfinity and Comcast Business products, including Xfinity Internet and Mobile as well as Comcast Business Internet and Mobile, with the project expected to be completed in 2026. Residents can visit Xfinity.com and businesses can visit ComcastBusiness.com to see if their address is eligible for service.

Comcast is committed to completing construction as efficiently as possible, while prioritizing safety and quality and disrupting local neighborhoods as little as possible. Once work is complete in an area, restoration work will begin. The Boardman Township Trustees are seeking to fill the position of Full Time Laborer in the Road Department. Applicants are required to possess a valid Ohio driver’s CDL A or B License or be willing to obtain a CDL within 6 months of employment and pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check.

The Boardman residents are invited to attend a special open house on Tuesday, July 11 at the main fire station located at 7440 Market Street, across from the Southern Park Mall. Doors will open at 6:00 PM.

Fire Chief Mark Pitzer and Boardman Township Administrator Jason Loree will present an overview of the Lifesaving EMS Initiative. The Initiative was created to address the impact on Boardman residents of the nationwide shortage of emergency medical services.

An exploratory committee was founded in 2018 to seek solutions for the township as it faces what some statewide officials call the “perfect storm.”  EMTs are quitting in record numbers, staff turnover is near 40% and response times are poor. Funding of resources has not been a priority.

Tuesday’s open house presentation will contain an overview of the situation and the options the township and residents will have to consider. After the presentation, a tour of the fire station, Boardman’s newest, will be offered.
