Police Dispatcher

Boardman Township Police Department is accepting applicants for the position of Police Dispatcher at its Communications Center, which provides emergency dispatch services for 13 law enforcement and fire agencies throughout Mahoning County. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and successfully pass a background investigation, medical exam, psychological assessment, and drug screening; prior dispatch experience is preferred but not required. Ideal applicants demonstrate integrity, strong communication skills, emotional control, teamwork, multitasking ability, and a commitment to serving the community. Selected candidates will complete a 3–6 month paid training program on department policies and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems. Starting pay is $19.02 per hour ($39,555 annually) with increases after training and each year of service, along with comprehensive benefits including medical coverage, shift differential, paid leave, life insurance, and other incentives.
