Request for Qualifications
Statement for Design Services
Boardman Township Main Fire
Station Urban Center
January 26, 2007
Boardman Township is
requesting Qualifications Statements for architectural and related design
services in connection with the design of a new Main Fire Station Urban Center
for the Township. Parties interested in being considered for retention as
design service providers are invited to submit written qualifications
statements to the Township. Three copies of each Qualifications Statement
should be placed in a sealed envelope marked “Qualifications Statement for
Design Services, Boardman Township Main Fire Station Urban Center” and
delivered to the Township on or before 4:00 p.m. local time March 7th,
2007. Qualifications Statements should be delivered to:

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project will involve the design of a new Main Fire Station Urban Center
for the Township. It is anticipated based on preliminary planning studies
that the location will be at the northwest corner of Southern Boulevard and
State Route 224. The space needs analysis program for the building(s) has not
yet been determined. The selected firm will work with the Township to fully
develop the program as it relates to Boardman Township’s future comprehensive
or master plan.
SELECTION PROCESS, SERVICES,
AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
As required by the Ohio Revised Code, responding firms will be evaluated and
ranked in order of their qualifications. Following this evaluation, Boardman
Township will enter into contract negotiations with the most highly qualified
firm. Boardman Township reserves the right to reject any or all
Qualifications Statements and to waive any informality, irregularity, or
failure to conform to the instructions contained in the
Request for Qualifications Statements for Design
Services.
Evaluation of the
Qualifications Statements will be based upon: 1. proximity of design services
provider to
Boardman
Township, Mahoning County; 2. competence to perform required design services
as indicated by the technical training, education, and experience of the
design service provider’s personnel, especially the technical training,
education, and experience of the employees who would be assigned to perform
the services; 3. previous experience working with government agencies or
other municipal projects or equivalent building types with respect to factors
such as control of costs, quality of work, and meeting of deadlines;
4.experience with environmentally and energy efficient projects; 5.other
similar factors emphasizing sustainability.
